Hello! I’m Sabrina Hughes, born and raised in the vibrant coastal city of Santa Cruz, California. My journey into photography began at Biola University, where I studied cinema and media arts with a focus on screenwriting. Although my path in film school faced many challenges, it ignited my passion for cinematography and visual storytelling.
I’m currently close to completing my Associate's degree in Photography, with plans to transfer for further studies. My journey has been prolonged due to health and financial reasons, but my dedication remains steadfast. I also attended film school at Biola University from 2016 to 2018. My experiences include working on film and photo sets in Los Angeles, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz county.
My interest in photography began when I was a young girl, inspired by my love for film and cinematography. Professionally, I am drawn to capturing candid, warm, natural, minimalist, and vibrant images, particularly at sunset, during golden hour, in the mountains, and by the beach.
I specialize in various types of photography, including:
- Portrait Photography
- Event Photography
- Architectural and Commercial Photography
- Landscape Photography
My style is candid and natural, focusing on capturing genuine moments. I love using the warm light of golden hour and creating minimalist compositions.
In my career, I've taken on diverse roles:
- Sales and Marketing Assistant at Daley's Drywall & Taping, managing and producing social media content.
- Created Kickstarter projects with the band Drawfire.
- Eight years of experience in portrait and event photography.
- Three years in architectural and commercial photography.
- OSHA certification for safety on active job sites.
What I enjoy most about working with clients is capturing the authentic moments that define their stories. I ensure a great experience by listening to their needs, being adaptable, and creating a comfortable environment for them.
Outside of photography, I enjoy cozy video games like The Sims 4 and cuddling with my cats, Oliver and Luna. These interests help me stay creative and relaxed, which translates into my work.
My philosophy in photography is to create images that tell compelling stories and evoke emotions. I hope my clients feel a sense of connection and nostalgia when they see their photos, preserving their cherished memories.
I aspire to turn my photography business into a full-time venture, allowing me to travel the world and capture timeless memories. I’m excited about the upcoming projects that will help me achieve this dream.
I grew up in a musical family and performed in musical theater. I love to sing and play guitar, piano, and ukulele. Also, I’m a huge Swiftie!
